Media , traditional as well as social...is being merciful as it has OPENED our eyes...it has brought the awareness that we lacked...it has brought up SOCIAL ACTIVISM...it has brought revolutions...it has promoted freedom..and ensured provision of rights...it is the tool against oppression, atrocities and believed to be a SOLUTION to many social problems...
Media has given voice to the unheard...eyes to the blinded ones and turned the world into a cyber-global-social village...it has united the scattered nations and compelled people to raise their voices against injustice...
But...it is not all goody goody about media...
...emm...is it all that it is??or is there some other side of the picture too???
well...media is showing what the AGENCIES want itto show...there wasa time when media was not free to express or publicize anything without the permission of the country's government...BUT NOW...the media is SO CALLED free...yet it is nothing but merely a puppet in the hands of the SUPER POWERS....the media now shows what IT WANTS US to see...the good is shown as bad...the bad is shown as WORST and the worst are promoted as the BEST!! death of 200 is shown as 20...and a protest conisting of 200 people is depicted as of 2000...(yes we have seen that in the cases of drone attacks and local political public sermons) so it is no more helpful in correct opinion formation...today the traditional media is focussing more on the spicy gossip part rather than revelaing the truth...
Today we are in a severe need of controlling the proliferation of the useless and frustrating informations and content across the globe...Social media should be also used to unveil the hidden facts and agendas behind the contents being aired via trd. media sources...The issue also lies in the fact that traditional media sources are present or available to many people...the tv..radio and newspaper etc...but social media is not in the reach of every person... So such steps as taken by Shahbaz Shareef should be appreciated, encouraged and supported in every possible way so that this inequality of distribution of information and knowledge is balanced...Nothing is good or bad...it is US who make the phenomenon worth praising or loathing...!
